Class 4 & 5 Drivers – Multiple Roles Available
VIPeople Recruitment is partnering with a well-established national transport operation to fill several key driving positions within their Christchurch team. These are full-time opportunities offering stability, variety, and the chance to work with modern equipment in a supportive environment.
We are currently recruiting for:
- Class 4 or 5 Hiab Driver (Day shift)
- Class 5 Swinglift Operator (Nightshift)
- Experienced Class 5 Drivers – General Transport / Container Work
(Precast, steel, skele, and swinglift)

What You’ll Do
Depending on the role, your daily tasks may include:
- Operating Hiab, swinglift, or various Class 5 configurations
- Completing lifts, load/unload tasks, and container movements
- Ensuring safe crane setup and maintaining exclusion zones
- Following customer site protocols and delivering excellent service
- Keeping vehicles clean, presentable, and well-maintained
- Using job management technology and adapting to new systems
- Working either day shift or nightshift depending on your preference
Skills & Experience We’re Seeking
- Current Class 4 or 5 NZ licence (Class 5 required for swinglift & general driving roles)
- Proven experience in:
- Hiab work (for Hiab position)
- Swinglift operations (for nightshift role)
- Multi-configuration Class 5 driving (for general transport roles)
- Strong attitude towards health & safety
- High energy, reliability, and solid communication skills
- Physically capable of climbing, lifting, and handling manual tasks
- Ability to maintain tidy work areas and represent the brand professionally
What You’ll Receive
- Minimum 40 hours per week – full-time, ongoing work
- Shifts available: Days and nights depending on role

Pre-Employment Requirements
Applicants must:
- Pass a criminal conviction check
- Complete a pre-employment medical, including drug & alcohol testing
- Hold valid work eligibility for NZ (the employer is NZ Immigration Accredited)
