NPI Engineer
Are you an experienced NPI Engineer looking to take the lead in bringing innovative, high-quality products to market? This is an exciting opportunity to join a well-established engineering and manufacturing organisation that delivers world-class products to global customers.
We are looking for a hands-on, proactive NPI Engineer who can work across the full product lifecycle, from concept and design through to manufacturing, testing, and market release.
About the Role
As the NPI Engineer, you will play a key role in introducing new products into production and supporting improvements to existing product lines. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to ensure products meet technical, quality, and customer requirements while supporting efficient manufacturing processes.
Your work will span design support, risk analysis, testing, documentation, continuous improvement, and technical problem-solving. This role requires a strong foundation in engineering principles, excellent communication skills, and a passion for delivering products to world-class standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the introduction of new and existing products into production.
- Provide technical and quality support to manufacturing, production, and engineering teams.
- Optimise manufacturing processes and collaborate on process engineering improvements.
- Conduct risk analysis including DFMEA, hazard assessments, and root-cause investigations.
- Develop and document test plans, procedures, and operating instructions.
- Perform testing to verify product reliability and compliance.
- Accurately document design changes, test results, and assembly processes.
- Maintain high standards in safety, quality, documentation, and continuous improvement.
- Support collaboration with suppliers, technical experts, production staff, and wider project teams.
Skills & Experience
We are looking for someone with:
- A relevant engineering qualification (Mechanical, Mechatronics, Electronics, or similar).
- Experience in NPI/NPD within a manufacturing or high-tech environment.
- Strong understanding of design principles including DFM, DFT, DFA, and change management.
- Hands-on experience with testing, verification, and technical documentation.
- Proficiency in engineering tools such as SolidWorks, DFMEA, RCA, and Microsoft 365.
- Experience with ISO9001 quality systems (advantageous).
- Strong problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a dynamic environment.
- A proactive, solutions-focused mindset with a commitment to continuous improvement.
