About the Company:

Our client is a long-standing, family-owned New Zealand business with over 25 years’ experience delivering commercial door and access solutions nationwide. With continued growth across the South Island, they are strengthening their Canterbury team and are now looking for a skilled roller door specialist to join the Christchurch operation.

This is a company known for quality workmanship, technical depth, and long-term client relationships across commercial and industrial environments.

The Role:

This is a senior, hands-on role focused specifically on the service, installation, repair and preventative maintenance of roller door systems.

You will work across Christchurch and the wider Canterbury region, largely autonomously, managing your own jobs and responding to breakdowns when required. This position suits someone currently working for a roller door or access solutions provider who is confident in fault-finding under pressure and enjoys field-based work.

Monday to Friday role, with after-hours callout work as required.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Service, repair and install commercial and industrial roller doors
  • Work across high-speed roller doors, rapid roll doors, shutters, sectional and sliding door systems
  • Fault-find mechanical and electrical issues under time-critical conditions
  • Perform preventative maintenance to minimise downtime for clients
  • Respond to breakdowns and emergency callouts
  • Liaise directly with site managers and business owners
  • Complete job reporting and maintain strong communication with the wider team
  • Maintain high health & safety and workmanship standards

What We’re Looking For:

This is not an entry-level position. We are seeking someone who can step straight into the role with minimal supervision.

You will bring:

  • Direct, hands-on experience as a Roller Door or Door Service Technician
  • Strong capability across installation, servicing, preventative maintenance and breakdown response
  • Experience working on high-speed roller doors and commercial access systems
  • Solid mechanical and electrical fault-finding skills
  • Ability to work independently in a field-based environment
  • After-hours callout experience
  • A stable work history within the door, access or industrial service sector
  • Strong communication skills and a professional client-facing manner
  • NZ Full Class 1 Driver Licence
  • Electrical practising licence (advantageous but not essential)

What’s on Offer:

  • Competitive wages aligned to your experience
  • Overtime rates and callout allowances
  • Stable, long-term role with an established industry operator
  • Birthday leave
  • Supportive team environment with strong technical backing
  • Consistent work across Canterbury

How to Apply:

Apply online with your up-to-date CV.

Applicants must:

  • Be currently based in New Zealand
  • Hold full working rights
  • Be able to pass pre-employment drug and criminal checks

If you’re currently working in the roller door or access systems industry and are ready for your next move, this is an excellent opportunity to join a reputable, growing business where your technical expertise will be respected and rewarded.
