Our client is seeking an experienced Production Fitter to join their growing engineering and manufacturing team. This is an exciting opportunity to work on road tanker builds, modifications, and plant maintenance, contributing to high-quality engineering solutions within a busy workshop environment.

Job Details
Full time + 40 hours + 7.30-4pm
Competitive pay rate based on experience + $20 weekly tool allowance + salary review after 3 months
Company health insurance after 6 months + overall provided + Overalls washed for you at work
 
About the Role
In this hands-on role, you will be responsible for the assembly, maintenance, and repair of road tankers and workshop equipment. You will work across new builds, modifications, and preventative maintenance while ensuring all machinery remains safe and operating efficiently.
You’ll be part of a collaborative team but also comfortable working independently to diagnose issues and deliver practical solutions.
 
 
Key Responsibilities

  • Assemble and build road tanker components
  • Carry out fabrication and installation of parts and equipment
  • Perform preventative maintenance and scheduled inspections
  • Undertake repairs, fault finding, and modifications
  • Install new machinery and equipment within the workshop
  • Maintain plant and workshop equipment including lathes, presses, and welding machines
  • Maintain company vehicles and forklifts as required
  • Work alongside contractors and engineering teams when required
  • Ensure all work is completed safely and to a high standard

 
What We’re Looking For

  • Trade qualification as a Fitter/Turner or similar engineering trade
  • Minimum 4 years’ experience in a fitting or maintenance role
  • Experience maintaining vehicles, plant machinery, or industrial equipment
  • Knowledge of pumps, valves, hydraulics, pneumatics and gearboxes
  • Strong problem-solving and fault-finding skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Good communication skills and a proactive attitude

 
Highly Regarded (but not essential)

  • Experience with lathes and milling machines
  • MIG/TIG welding experience
  • Experience with hydraulic or pneumatic testing equipment
  • Heavy vehicle license or DG certification
