About the role:

We are seeking a motivated Electrical Operations Manager to lead and grow our Industrial Division. This is a hands-on role, managing a small team of 3–4 maintenance electricians while also working on the tools. You’ll be responsible for driving division performance, quoting jobs, scheduling preventative maintenance, and building client relationships to grow the business further. This role reports directly to the Director and offers the opportunity to take real ownership and treat the division as your own.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and supervise the division team, ensuring daily targets are met
  • Develop and implement sales and marketing plans
  • Price and quote work promptly and accurately
  • Oversee onboarding, training, and staff performance reviews
  • Plan and manage daily operations, ensuring efficiency and accountability
  • Liaise with clients and keep them well informed
  • Invoicing completed work promptly
  • Resolve issues quickly and effectively
  • Meet sales and profit targets, identifying growth opportunities
  • Ensure all work complies with company policies and procedures
  • Other duties as required

What’s Required:

  • New Zealand Registered Electrician with 10+ years’ industrial experience
  • Proven experience in a leadership/managerial role
  • Hands-on, practical skills – this is part on-the-tools until the team grows
  • Strong pricing and quoting experience
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and organisational skills
  • Ability to motivate staff and hold them accountable
  • Problem-solving and conflict resolution skills
  • Strong customer service focus and ability to build relationships
  • Full, clean NZ Class 1 driver’s licence
  • Knowledge of solar installation and commissioning would be an advantage
