Fabricator Welder
We are recruiting on behalf of a well-established transport and fabrication business for an experienced Fabricator/Welder to join their tank shop team. This is a long-term opportunity for someone who takes pride in quality workmanship, enjoys hands-on fabrication work, and can contribute to a busy and supportive workshop environment.
About the role
You will be responsible for the fabrication and assembly of components, including general fitting, aluminium sheet metal fabrication, MIG and TIG welding, and working with pneumatics, hydraulics, pumps and meters. You will also support the review of engineering drawings and requirements, helping to ensure work is completed efficiently, safely and to a high standard.
A big part of this role is maintaining a tidy and safe work area, communicating clearly with management and relevant stakeholders, and contributing to a positive team culture. This is a practical, varied role where attention to detail and a strong work ethic will be highly valued.
What we’re looking for
- Formal qualification in a relevant trade and/or at least 4 years’ experience as a welder/fabricator or similar.
- Experience with MIG and TIG welding.
- Knowledge and experience operating a wide range of general workshop machines and equipment.
- Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively with staff, suppliers and contractors.
- A systematic approach to problem-solving.
- Ability to work well in a team, take initiative and work with minimal supervision.
- Flexible, self-motivated, and safety focused.
Role details
- Hours: Monday to Friday, 7:30am – 4:00pm
- Hours per week: 40
- Overtime: Very limited, with only occasional overtime when needed and very little weekend work
- Pay rate: Up to $40 per hour, with most roles starting around $35 per hour depending on experience
- Type: Long-term Permanent opportunity
